I got paid to shop at CVS!

This is so crazy.  I just started CVSing about a month ago and I am just amazed at how much money I save there!  I never thought that I could save money, let alone MAKE money by shopping there.  So here is what happened that I was able to earn $10 by shopping and got to take tons of stuff home free with no money out of pocket!

I was able to get a $25 gift card yesterday for having a prescription filled there.  Annagrace has severe tonsillitis and needed an antibiotic.  The cost for the med was $15 and I brought in a coupon I found online for a $25 gift card with any new medication.  I paid $15 out of pocket and got $25 back so basically I paid nothing for the medication and EARNED $10!

So I went in today after Annagrace’s doctor’s appointment (she’s better by the way but has to see a specialist in 2 weeks) and picked up all this stuff:

I used $19.05 of the gift card and I earned back $13.96 in ECBs!  Sweet! Here is the breakdown:

(1) Giant Kit Kat (a treat for Annagrace!) @ 0.99 cents
(2) bags of Cadbury Eggs @ 0.99 cents each
(2) bags Hershey Kisses @ 0.99 cents each
(4) Colgate toothpastes @ 2.99 each
(2) Maybelline mascaras B1G1 free @ $7.99
(2) Glade candles @ $2.99 each
Subtotal:  $30.88
Coupons:  $1.50 off of 3 bags candy, $1.00 off Colgate, $1.50 off Colgate, $1.00 off 2 Colgates, $1.00 off Maybelline, $2.00 off 2 Glade candles, $5 off $15 purchase
New Total:  $17.88
ECBs earned for next purchase:  $13.96
Amount left on gift card:  $5.95

I got all confused when I got there because they didn’t have 3 of things that I planned out on my list.  So I had to improvise.  I’m sure I could have done better if I had time to think about it!  I was still rather excited though.  Also, I had a Johnson and Johnson coupon that wouldn’t work when I tried to buy a Bath Buddies bar of soap.  The cashier said he could get a manager to approve it but I told him not to worry about it.  I’ll have to try to use it at the other CVS where I am planning another stop at this week!

So then I went to Food Lion.  I had a few coupons that I wanted to use for some free items and while I was there I saw that Pampers Pull Ups were on sale.  Here is what I got for $11.24:

And here is the breakdown (these are after MVP prices):

(2) 2 liter cokes at 0.99 cents each
(1) Gerber sippy cup $3.99
(1) Clorox Hard Surface Spray $1.33 (on clearance)
(1) Breyers yogurt 0.50 cents
(1) Food Lion yogurt 0.40 cents
(1) can Mighty Dog dog food 0.60 cents
(1) Jumbo pack Pampers Pull Ups $8.99
Subtotal:  $17.74

Misty, you really need to ask?! Actually, the kisses will probably wind up in the kid’s Easter baskets! The Cadbury Eggs will be gone very soon . . . !
