I had to go to the ED and have it drained. They just cut a little slit in it and drained all the gunk out. You probably should see a doctor--the only reason I went to the ED was because my doctor could not see me that day. Insurance probably wouldn't have paid for that visit but my blood pressure was sky high when I got to the ED because it hurt so badly. That was a long time ago...but I remember they gave me a tetanus shot and I had to take antibiotics for a week afterwards. They told me it was a felon. I had to go to the ED and have it drained. I have the exact same thing. for a week, my index finger hurt so bad to the touch. i thought it was an ingrown nail until it started to swell. it got huge and a pus pocket formed right where yours is. it was much hotter than the rest of my body. it hurts so bad and it throbs. the pus came out today all yellow and cloudy. i came across this when researching whether or not to go to the doctor. it is either felon or parnochia. what were you diagnosed as and should i go to the doctor? did i mention it hurts a ton? Oh my gosh!
